Johnny Rodgers Band’s “Bound Together” Receives Song Performance Award

admin : June 6, 2009 2:49 pm : Awards, Band, News

KEY BISCAYNE, FL, June 05, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ — The judges of the 12th Annual Unisong International Songwriting Contest awarded Johnny Rodgers Band in the Performance Category (Artist & Song) where the winner is judged equally on the quality of their song AND the performance of it. Johnny Rodgers Band joins an elite group of winners selected from the thousands of entries from around the world.
The award winning song was written by Johnny Rodgers with lyric assistance from band drummer Danny Mallon.
Bound Together is rally cry for peace and unity recognizing that while we have differences – we are in this world together. Audiences rock out to Joe Ravo’s guitar solo and Brian Glassman’s strong bass countermelodies and also sing along with the refrain knowing that together we can make things right. During pre-release play, the fans voted Bound Together the #2 song in the Indie Pop category for June 2008. The song is now part of a new EP of the same name released in December 2008.

The Bound Together EP is attracting attention from many AC and Hot AC radio stations across the nation due to Johnny Rodgers’s other compelling original songs too:
Cry For Freedom is shaded with Pink Floyd and Beatle like sounds and delivers classic pop/rock lyrics that reach-out for the listener’s personal interpretation.
The Best of You In Me is a tribute to those that helped each day growing up. For most of us that is our parents. And now you look in the mirror – and see their face smiling back. The song provides a wonderful Father’s Day or Graduation tribute. This was awarded the #1 fan rating for the John Lennon Song Contest channel at too.
Lord Let The Angels Sing was written in a flash of inspiration under the Christmas stars. Reflections, family and friends, hope, healing, and glory to a newborn King float atop the wondrous melody. Ben Taylor adds backup vocals to Johnny’s always soulful voice and helps create a memorable year-round Christmas experience for all.

Johnny Rodgers was also a 2008 winner of Billboard’s World Song Contest for Home To Mendocino from his debut CD Box of Photographs. Last year he also received the ASCAP Foundation Jamie deRoy & friends song writer award. Johnny pleases not only with his original songs but also his boy-next-door charm and creamy, dreamy crooner’s voice. Songs for the sophisticated palette. Bubbly and romantic pop ballads, Taylor-laced melodies, and sultry jazz all stirred with piano driven rock.
You can see and hear a performance of the award winning Bound Together song and more at Johnny Rodgers Band’s Multimedia Video . The music is available in New York City and Miami area F.Y.E retailers, at the website store and your favorite online outlet.
